Nurse Practitioners

  • Kathleen Ballenger - Retired

    Kathy Ballenger was born in Cleveland, Ohio and lived there until moving to Missouri in 1992. While teaching pediatric nursing at Missouri Western State University in Saint Joseph, she became a nurse practitioner through the University of Missouri at Kansas City. In 1998, she joined Pediatric Care North. She is dual board certified through the ANCC as a pediatric and family nurse practitioner. She has a special interest in working with patients with asthma and is a strong proponent of immunizations

    When not working at Pediatric Care North, Kathy enjoys her status as the proud grandmother of 4 delightful youngsters (who are also patients of other providers at Pediatric Care North) and mother of their parents who are pharmacists at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

  • Veda Donner, PNP - Retired

    Veda Donner is a native of the Northland and graduated from Oak Park High School. She graduated from Rockhurst University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1990, she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Christian University and also completed the PNP program earning a Master of Science in Nursing degree at UMKC in 1997. After working at Children’s Mercy Hospital and another pediatric office, Veda joined Pediatric Care North in January 2007.

    Veda is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She has special pediatric interests in allergy and asthma management.

    Veda is married to Jeff, whom she met in high school. She is the mother of two sons, Jordan and Brett. Jordan is an Electrical Engineer and pursuing an MBA at the University of Chicago. Brett is a college student at the University of Missouri Science and Technology and close to graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering.

    Hobbies include traveling, spending time with family and friends and watching sports. She is a board member for Harvest Ball Society, a non-profit who helps Northland charities and is also an active member at Liberty United Methodist Church.

  • Monica Rondeau, PNP

    Monica Rondeau attended the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, prior to pursuing her BSN from the University of Kansas Medical Center. After graduation, she took a position in the Neonatal ICU at Overland Park Regional Medical Center where she worked caring for premature infants for 7 years. While working in the NICU Monica pursued her Master's as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Joining Pediatric Care North in 2014, Monica is certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and loves working with children and families every day.

    Monica and her husband Eric, have one daughter and a bossy terrier. As a graduate of KU, Monica is enthusiastic about Jayhawk athletics and loves spending time with her family, in the sunshine whenever possible.
